Hopefully Katy Perry won’t be the one who got away from New Zealand’s tourism industry. The California Gurl has asked Kiwis for some suggestions on what to do when she visits here in December – and has been getting them in droves, but although many seem to be from people with a bit of a stake in the matter.

Will Katy roar into Rotorua?

Pop sensation Katy Perry will be visiting Rotorua to sample a hangi – if the town’s cultural tourism attraction has its way. Perry is bringing her Prismatic World Tour to Auckland in December and has asked New Zealanders to recommend some kiwi experiences for her to take in, especially somewhere she can enjoy ”food cooked in the ground.” For Te Puia marketing manager Eruera West, that means a stop in Rotorua.
