Bush’s head on Game of Thrones

Probably not a lot of fans of the HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones has seen this, but anyone who purchased the DVD of this show should check the commentary track to see George W. Bush look alike.

It is not the first time a politician appeared in a TV show, Clinton made an appreance in Family Guy and Obama appeared in Spider man animation series, so how did George W. Bush ended up in Game of Thrones?

And not even as an extra he was actually on a stick, well a part of him at least…

Anyway he didn’t have a part on the show, what happened was on the commentary section of the DVD there was a scene that showed a head on a stick and during the commentaries someone made a comment about how the head resembled George W. Bush.

“We were deeply dismayed to see this and find it unacceptable, disrespectful and in very bad taste,” HBO said in a statement.

We made this clear to the executive producers of the series, who apologized immediately for this inadvertent careless mistake. We are sorry this happened and will have it removed from any future DVD production.”

The producers, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, said they rented prosthetic body parts in bulk for the season 1 scene in which King Joffrey takes Sansa Stark to look at the head of her dead father, Ned Stark.

“After the scene was already shot, someone pointed out that one of the heads looked like George W. Bush,” they said in a statement. “In the DVD commentary, we mentioned this, though we should not have. We meant no disrespect to the former president and apologize if anything we said or did suggested otherwise.”
