Britney Spears ‘signs Vegas residency’

Britney Spears has reportedly signed a concert residency deal.

The pop star is believed to have inked the agreement to perform in Las Vegas, Nevada shortly after visiting court on Monday to discuss her conservatorship.

Spears apparently will be contracted to grace the stage at Sin City’s Planet Hollywood resort for two years, a source told BreatheHeavy.com.

The stint, which she has been getting in shape for in the last few months, is believed to commence sometime around New Year’s Eve.

However an official press conference announcement about the star’s new job isn’t due until next week.

Apparently she will not reside in the place described as “Disneyland for adults” permanently.

Spears is planning to perform for several consecutive weeks before then being allowed holiday.

Apparently in that time she will return to Los Angeles, California, before heading out to the Vegas desert once again.

The Toxic singer has stayed within the bounds of a conservatorship order since 2008 after she went through a very public meltdown.

The order was put in place after Spears was set in an involuntary psychiatric hold and stripped of visitation rights for her two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline, which she has since regained.

According to Radar Online, the singer reassured Judge Reva Goetz she is ready and “excited” to be in front of large audiences regularly again.

“The judge was impressed with how happy and excited Britney was,” a source told the website.

“Britney assured Goetz she could handle the stress and felt comfortable with the performance schedule.”

Her dad, Jamie Spears, is in control of her assets under certain terms for the moment.

Spears is currently working on her eighth studio album after coming back to the music scene following her troubles, with 2008’s Circus, 2011’s Femme Fatale and a judging role on The X Factor’s American version in 2012.
