Beckham to ‘lock up daughter like Rapunzel’

David Beckham jokes his daughter will “absolutely not” be dating when she gets older.

The football star shares 23-month-old baby Harper with wife Victoria Beckham.

Beckham confesses he is particularly protective over his daughter.

He is incredibly resistant to allowing her to go out on dates when she becomes a young woman.

His no-dating policy is inspired by one particular classic fairy tale in which a prince had to climb up the princess’ long hair to visit her while she was locked in a tower.

“Absolutely not. She’s not going out,” he told British newspaper The Sun.

“She’s going to be like Rapunzel – up in the tower.”

David and Victoria also share boys Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, ten, and Cruz, eight together.

The patriarch believes raising a daughter necessitates an entirely different approach to parenting than raising males.

“To have a daughter is a whole different thing,” David explained.

“I’m not saying I love my daughter more, but the boys are independent.”

Beckham recently announced his retirement from sport.

The athlete is looking forward to leisurely spending time with his family.

“I’m excited about simple things like visiting my parents,” he said.

It is rumoured the Beckhams are compelled to expand their clan further.

Apparently they desire to have just one more tyke.

“They’re not going to start trying for a baby just yet as they have got their hands full with Harper but Victoria still hopes they’ll have one more child in the future,” a source told UK magazine Closer recently.
