Anna finds joy with new guy

A year on from her ex-husband’s acquittal over the murder of her brother, Anna Guy is stepping out in public with a new man.

The sister of slain Feilding farmer Scott Guy has made a new life for herself away from former spouse Ewen Macdonald.

Until now she has kept her new relationship under wraps but she was happy to be snapped with 36-year-old Brent Jameson at a World Press Photo Exhibition in Auckland.

She said she had been dating the marketing executive for about a year.

“I’m loving it in Auckland, it’s definitely a lot easier than a year ago,” the mother of four said.

“The kids are settled, they’re meeting people. It’s really easy.”

Guy has settled on the North Shore, where she blogs for the Essential Mums website on stuff.co.nz. After appearing on the debut of TV3’s Third Degree, she is having another go on the current affairs programme, but wouldn’t reveal her new role.

“It’s coming out soon, in the next month or so. I’m not reporting as such, I’m telling a story for them. I’m enjoying it.”

Guy hopes to make a career in broadcasting “but I’m juggling a couple of things because my youngest is not quite at school yet”.

As for how often her four children see their dad, she would not say.

Macdonald, 32, is serving a five-year sentence in Christchurch Men’s Prison after admitting six crimes that surfaced during the murder investigation, including the arson of an old farmhouse on Scott Guy’s property, vandalism of Scott and Kylie Guy’s new home and killing calves on a Foxton property.

He was recently declined parole and was ordered to undergo “intensive psychological therapy” to address his “underlying issues” before he next faced the board later this year.
