From humble beginnings as music students at Staffordshire University, The Editors have grown into a fullblown stadium band with a big sound to match.

Their fourth studio album has a touch of the new wave of romanticism of earlier generation bands such as Simple Minds and Depeche Mode.

And while urbanesque frontman Tom Smith has obviously been going through some relationship turmoil as evidenced by much of the lyric content – “Your bowling ball eyes have nothing to say/They knock me over anyway” – songs such as the title track, Honesty and The Phone Book are made of the sort of stuff that’s largely devoid of breakup clich
